Job Announcement:

The Rochelle Park Police Department is hiring a full-time police dispatcher.

Applicants must have certifications in Emergency Medical Dispatch and Basic Telecommunications. Must have previous experience in police dispatching. Current vacancy is for the 7PM to 7AM shift on the “Pitman Schedule”.

All applicants are required at minimum to:

  • Be 18 years of or older
  • Be citizens of the United States of America
  • Be able to read and write the English language well and intelligently
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Be of good moral character
  • Have no criminal convictions
  • Be able to multi task
  • Be calm in high stress situation
  • Ability to deal with the public
  • Competent in computer skills
  • Must pass a criminal / fingerprint background check

Civilian Dispatchers

Starting - After 6 months advance to Step #1 $36,490.16
Step #1 - Plus 14 paid holidays@ 1 1/2 times incl. in base $44,412.05
Step #2 - Plus 14 paid holidays@ 1 1/2 times incl. in base $46,970.28
Step #3 - Plus 14 paid holidays @ 1 1/2 times incl. in base $52,182.74
Step #4 - Plus 14 paid holidays @ 1 12 times incl. in base $55,664.01
Step #5 - Plus 14 paid holidays @ 1 1/2 times incl. in base $62,960.58
Step #6 - Plus 14 paid holidays @ 1 1/2 times incl. in base $64,024.47
Salary is negotiable and commensurate with experience.

 

Rochelle Park Township is E.O.E. & ADA compliant.
