Mission

The mission of the Mountain Lakes Police Department is to improve the quality of life in Mountain Lakes by working together with all citizens to preserve life, maintain human rights, protect property, and promote public safety.

 

About

Mountain Lakes is a Borough in Morris County, New Jersey, and a suburb of New York City. As of the 2000 United States Census there were 4,256 people, 1,330 households, and 1,186 families residing in the Borough. The Borough has a land area of 2.91 square miles. The community is primarily residential with the majority of businesses on US Route 46

The current composition of the Department is thirteen Officers and four SLEO II's. Patrol Officers work the Pitman schedule with 12-hour shifts. The Lieutenant, School Resource Officer and Detective work a Monday to Friday schedule.
