The West Caldwell Police Department is seeking motivated and dedicated men and women who want to serve in one of the best communities in Northern, New Jersey. We are looking for intelligent, proactive candidates, who possess good writing skills, good verbal and interpersonal communication skills and strong problem-solving ability, who want to serve in a community-oriented police agency. We serve a diverse community of 11,000 residents with a daily population of over 50,000 people.
Minimum Requirements:
- The applicant must possess a Police Training Certificate issued by the New Jersey Police Training Commission (full-time regular police officer or a graduate of a New Jersey Police Academy alternate route training program) or be currently enrolled in a State of New Jersey Police Academy as an alternate route candidate. No Waivers.
- Applicant must not be less than 18 years old at the time of appointment.
- Applicant must be a citizen of the United States and a legal resident of the State of New Jersey.
- Applicant must possess a valid New Jersey Driver's License.
- Applicant must be sound in body and good health sufficient to satisfy the Board of Trustees of the Police Retirement System of New Jersey that such person is eligible for membership in the retirement system.
- Be of good moral character and must not have been convicted of any crime involving moral turpitude.
- Be able to read, write and speak the English language well and intelligently.
- Must be able to perform all the tasks and duties of a Police Officer.
