NJPTC Certified Police Officer
Applicant must be a United States citizen, between the ages of 21 and 35, and reside in the State of New Jersey upon appointment. Applicant must not have a conviction of any offense involving dishonesty or which would make the person unfit to perform the duties of the office; pass a personal background investigation, a medical examination and possess a valid New Jersey driver's license.
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria: possess a valid New Jersey PTC Certificate, be a waiver-eligible Class II Special Law Enforcement 'Commingled Class' graduate, or successfully complete the Alternate Route Program no later than June 30th, 2025. Please note that, as of now, the Franklin Lakes Police Department is not offering the 'GAP' program or offering waivers for out of state certifications.
