The Plainsboro Township Police Department, Middlesex County, NJ, is accepting applications from qualified candidates for a position of full-time Entry Level Police Officer.
Applicants shall provide the following documents at the time of application:
- Resume and Letter of Interest
- Proof of Education/military (if applicable)
- Copy of valid NJ Driver’s License
- For candidate(s) who are bi-lingual, please depict what language(s) you speak, read, and write fluently
Qualifications:
- Applicants must be a US citizen and a resident of NJ at the time of appointment.
- 21 years of age, must not reach the age of 35 prior to date of hire. (Please check NJ Police and Fireman's Retirement System for eligibility waivers for those 35 and older)
- Applicant shall be of good moral character, sound body, and good health.
- Applicants shall be able to read and write the English language well.
- Applicants shall have no convictions of any criminal offense involving moral turpitude.
- An Associates/Bachelor’s Degree is preferred but not required.
- Applicants with no college degree will be required to obtain a minimum of sixty college credits within four years of employment date. (College reimbursement offered, in accordance with the current collective bargaining agreement)
- An applicant must have two (2) years of verifiable employment (does not have to be in law enforcement), or a minimum of two (2) years active military service with honorable discharge.
- Must be eligible for PTC Licensing Requirements (PTC certification not required at time of appointment)
- Applicants are required to pass a physical fitness exam, oral boards, extensive background investigation, medical and psychological examinations, and a drug screening prior to appointment.
