Branchburg - NJPTC/ BCPO Certified Police Officer

GENERAL DUTIES
Exercise authority consistent with the obligations imposed by the oath of office and in conformance with the general duties of the Department. To protect life and property, preserve the peace and perform their duties promptly, faithfully and diligently.
SALARY
Starting Salary for Probationary Officer(s) $57,000.00
Accepting Lateral transfers within NJ up to $72,800.00
ABOUT THE BRANCHBURG TOWNSHIP POLICE DEPARTMENT
Branchburg Township has a resident population of approximately 15,000. We are a semi-rural town that has growing residential and business communities with high traffic influx during business hours. Our Police Department currently has 28 full-time sworn officers dedicated to providing security, protection, and professional service to the residents of Branchburg Township.
Our Officers have a deep community connection with its residents and strive to perform above the rest. We are a young and proactive department with plenty of training opportunities and the ability to hone-in specific skills that will benefit our department and its relationship with the community. We have a gym on-site for our officers where we encourage them to continue to better themselves and their training. Our department will see in the next few years growth both internally as an agency but also within our town with a multitude of housing / commercial developments.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be between 21 and 35 years of age
Must be US Citizen and a Resident of New Jersey
Must have (at minimum) a High School Diploma
College Degree and/or Military service preferred
Must Possess a valid New Jersey Driver’s License
Must have full BCPO PTC Certification or scheduled to graduate from a NJPTC certified academy
Must be able to successfully pass a full Background Check, Medical Exam, and Psychological screening
