STONINGTON POLICE DEPARTMENT
IS NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR
ENTRY LEVEL POLICE OFFICERS (LEC EXAM)
The Town of Stonington is currently accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. Our officers provide the highest level of police service to improve the quality of life for the Citizens of Stonington while maintaining a high standard of professionalism, ethics and dedication to Law Enforcement.
Salary
$66,195.25 - $86,701.38
Eligibility Requirements
- A minimum of 21 years of age.
- You must be a Citizen of the United States.
- You must be a high school graduate or possess a GED
- You must possess a valid driver’s license.
- You must meet departmental physical fitness Standard (Test administered by this department)
- You must have a written examination score of 70% or higher (S.P.D. reserves the right to require a higher %)
- You must be of good character and high moral standards.
- You must have the ability to follow oral and written instructions, to read and write proficiently in the English language.
- Candidates must be able to write clear and concise reports and have good people skills.
- Residency - All employees must reside within a 25-mile radius of the police department facility.

The competitive selection process will include, at minimum, a detailed review of your application packet, and the successful completion of the Department’s selection process which includes but may not be limited to the following:

- Oral Examination
- Polygraph Examination
- Psychological Exam
- Detailed Background Investigation

- Chief / Police Commission Interview
