The Hingham Police Department in Massachusetts is committed to serving the community with professionalism and integrity. The department comprises 55 full-time officers, 25 part-time special officers, and 3 professional civilian staff members.

Officers have opportunities to specialize in various units, including:

• **Drone Operator**
• **K-9 Officer**: The K-9 Unit includes patrol and narcotics detection dogs, as well as a comfort dog assigned to the School Resource Officer.
• **Detective**
• **School Resource Officer**
• **SWAT**
• **Marine Patrol**
• **Traffic Division**: Established in 1982, this division focuses on enforcing motor vehicle laws to reduce injuries from crashes. Officers investigate accidents and are trained in advanced accident investigation techniques.
• **Motorcycle Officer**: Motorcycle officers are part of the Traffic Division, utilizing motorcycles for traffic enforcement and patrol duties.

About Us

Hingham, Massachusetts is a historic coastal town about 15 miles southeast of Boston, with a population of around 24,000. Settled in 1633 and incorporated in 1635, it played roles in both the American Revolution and World War II.
