Ewing Township Police Department

The Ewing Township Police Department was established in 1928 and is currently staffed by 85 sworn law enforcement officers. Under the leadership of Chief Albert Rhodes, the department is organized into several operational bureaus, including Patrol, Traffic, Criminal Investigations, Professional Standards, and Support Services.

In support of the department’s daily operations and public safety mission, these bureaus oversee a number of specialized units, including Drone Operations, Crime Scene Investigations, K-9, Community Relations, and Training. Additionally, the department has officers assigned to the Mercer County Tactical Response Team, Mercer County Prosecutor's Office, and Federal Law Enforcement agencies as Task Force Officers. Together, these divisions and specialty units work collaboratively to provide professional law enforcement services and enhance the safety and quality of life within the community.

Ewing Township is comprised of approximately 15.56 squares miles, which borders Hopewell Township, Lawrence Township, the City of Trenton, and the Delaware River. With easy access to both Philadelphia and New York, the Township remains a viable business center. It continues to function as a corridor for the vital components of air, rail, and land transportation, including Trenton-Mercer Airport and Interstate 295. Under the initiative of the Mayor-Council form of government, the Township continues to review and define several areas for redevelopment and community renewal.
