Job Announcement

The Westfield Police Department is seeking professional, qualified and energetic applicants for the position of Patrol Officer who possess the Department’s Core Values of Honesty, Integrity, and Pride.  The Westfield Police Department is a Title 40A:14-118 agency created by the governing body of the municipality.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be a resident of New Jersey and a citizen of the United States

Must be at least 21 years of age and less than 35 years of age (Applicants must be appointed on or before their 35^th birthday. There are exceptions to the age requirement for former military personnel who served in an area of conflict as well as certain former law enforcement officers)

• Must be able to perform all the tasks and duties of a Police Officer
• Sworn employees must maintain residency in the State of New Jersey during their employment with the agency.
• Must have graduated from High school and have a high school diploma or a general equivalently GED
• Must possess a valid New Jersey Driver’s License
• Must be of good moral character
• Must submit to a complete background investigation
• Must submit to and successfully pass a medical and psychological examination
• Must have not been convicted of any violations of the laws of the State of New Jersey or the United States, except minor traffic offenses, nor shall have been convicted of any crime or offense involving moral turpitude
