West Caldwell Police Department
Police Officer
Minimum Requirements:
- The applicant must possess a Police Training Certificate issued by the New Jersey Police Training Commission (full-time regular police officer, waiver eligible Class II Special Law Enforcement Officer, or a graduate of a New Jersey Police Academy alternate route training program) or be currently enrolled in a State of New Jersey Police Academy as an alternate route candidate.
- Applicant must not be less than 18 years old at time of appointment.
- Applicant must be a citizen of the United States and a legal resident of the State of New Jersey.
- Applicant must possess a valid New Jersey Driver’s License.
- Be sound in body and of good health sufficient to satisfy the Board of Trustees of the Police Retirement System of New Jersey that such person is eligible for membership in the retirement system.
- Be of good moral character and must not have been convicted of any crime involving moral turpitude.
- Be able to read, write and speak the English language well and intelligently.
- Ability to perform all the tasks and duties of a Police Officer.
