Teaneck - Parking Enforcement Officer

The Township of Teaneck is seeking to fill one full-time position for the title of Parking Enforcement Officer. Under direction, the PEO patrols designated areas and issues summonses for motor vehicles to enforce state, county, or municipal statutes, resolutions, and ordinances for regulations related to the parking of motor vehicles within the municipality.

Minimum Requirements:

• Appointees will be required to possess a driver’s license valid in New Jersey to perform the essential duties of the position
• The candidate should have knowledge of problems involved in parking violations or the procedures used in dealing with such problems
• The candidate should have knowledge of record keeping and making reports of conditions noted and actions taken
• The candidate should have the ability to understand, remember, and carry out oral and written directions. 
• In addition, the candidate must have the ability to analyze routine problems, organize assigned work, and develop effective work methods, and the ability to learn quickly from oral and written explanations and from demonstrations in accordance with the job specifications listed by the New Jersey Civil Service Commission.
