FULL-TIME POLICE OFFICER
The Town of Sunapee Police Department is seeking qualified candidates to join our team as a Full-Time Police Officer. This position offers the opportunity to serve and protect our community while working alongside a professional and dedicated department.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Be a citizen of the United States of America.
- Have not been convicted of a Felony.
- Eligible for certification by the New Hampshire Police Standards and Training Council (must obtain certification within one year of appointment.
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong communication skills, sound judgement, and commitment to integrity, service, fairness, and professionalism.
In addition, applicants will be required to pass:
- Physical Agility Test.
- Background Investigation.
- Medical Examination.
- Polygraph Examination.
- Psychological Examination.
Starting salary depends on experience. Full-time police certification is preferred but not required. You will be required to upload a resume and cover letter in addition to the application.
ABOUT OUR DEPARTMENT
The police department is a group of law enforcement professionals consisting of six full-time sworn officer positions, including the Chief of Police, Lieutenant, Sergeant, and three patrol officers. The department also includes a Police Prosecutor, Executive Administrative Assistant, Harbor Liaison, Evidence Technician, Accreditation Manager, and six part-time officer positions, all of whom are dedicated to preserving the “small town” quality of life here in Sunapee. Our goal is to serve and protect those who live in and visit this picturesque community. You’ll notice a true “team spirit” that exists not only among the members of the police department, but all town employees who serve both residents and visitors alike. For the right candidate, we provide training, certification through the New Hampshire Police Standards and Training Council, and experience to get you started as a Police Officer.
