Part-Time Police Officer
The Town of Sturbridge will be accepting cover letters and resumes for the position of Part-Time Police Officer. The Sturbridge Police Department is a Full-Service Accredited Police Agency. Duties of this position are under direct supervision and a high quality of service is expected. The primary assignment of this position will be conducting Marine Patrols during weekend hours and holidays. This position will always consist of filling vacant cruiser patrol shifts; primarily on holidays, nights, and weekends.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- U.S. Citizen with a High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Valid Driver's License
- Graduate of the Basic Full-Time Massachusetts Police Training Committee or Equivalent (POST Certified)
- At least one year of law enforcement experience
- Ability to possess a Class A license to carry a firearm
- Flexibility to work any hours and in all weather conditions
- Capability to learn and demonstrate job requirements after training
- Must pass a physical ability test and an interview process subject to medical and psychological exams, along with an extensive background investigation for finalists
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- COLLEGE DEGREE AND/OR PRIOR MILITARY SERVICE (NOT REQUIRED)
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- STARTING SALARY RATE: $30.88-$37.37 PER HOUR, DOE.
- NO FELONY CONVICTIONS (PER STATE LAW)
