2016 POLICE OFFICER EXAMINATION

The South Central Criminal Justice Administration (SCCJA) provides a full range of management support services to twenty-one municipalities and universities within South Central Connecticut. Not all SCCJA departments will be utilizing results from this examination process.

Testing Dates:
MARCH 16th:
(PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE EXAM)
The Physical Performance Exam is being held on March 16th for any individual who does not hold a valid CHIP Card.
MARCH 19th:
(WRITTEN EXAM)
ONLY those who pass the Physical Performance Exam or who have a valid CHIP Card will be invited to take the Written Exam on March 19th.
The South Central Criminal Justice Administration's (SCCJA) testing process consists of three (3) phases.
- Phase I. Physical Performance Examination: SCCJA will administer a Physical Performance Examination for any individual who does not hold a valid CHIP Card. In order to take this examination, individuals must bring the completed Physical Performance Examination registration forms with them to the Physical Performance Exam. - Phase II. Written Exam: Individuals who pass the SCCJA Physical Performance Examination or who hold a valid CHIP Card will advance to the Written Exam. Each participating department is responsible for setting its minimal passing score for the Written Exam.
- Phase III. Oral Interview: Only those individuals who pass the Written Test will be invited to an Oral Interview
Please be advised that the South Central Criminal Justice Administration is only responsible to administer the physical performance, written and oral exams. Upon completion of these components, SCCJA no longer has involvement with the test process. All subsequent test components, including medical examinations, police commission oral board examinations, interviews, psychological testing, polygraph testing, background investigation, controlled substance screening or other phases will be administered by each department at its schedule. Questions regarding these test phases should be directed to the participating departments. SCCJA may provide scheduling services for these phases if required. Please be advised that failing a test phase in the current test process does not make you ineligible to participate in future test processes.
