POLICE OFFICER / POLICE RECRUIT
The Somerville Police Department is recruiting for Police Officer/Police Recruit. We are a small department in Burleson County, Texas (20 minutes from College Station home of Texas A & M) and home to Lake Somerville. We are looking to add the right person to join our team!!
What we provide:
- Take Home Patrol Unit, according to policy.
- New department issued Sig Sauer P320, with weapon mounted camera & light.
- New Taser X7
- New Watch Guard Body Cameras
- Department issued iPhone
- Free TCOLE police training through on-line learning management system.
- 12-hour shifts, with every other weekend off
- All uniforms and police equipment provided and assigned to the individual officer.
- The City of Somerville offers, Texas Municipal Retirement System, 20 years of service and retire at any age, 1 to 1.5 match, Health insurance (Blue Cross Blue Shield) provided free of charge to the officer, and available for family.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a United States Citizen
- Must be 21 years of age or upon graduating the police academy
- High School/GED required
- No Felony or Class A misdemeanor convictions; no Class B misdemeanor convictions within the past (10) years.
- Valid driver’s license
- Veterans must have an Honorable Discharge
The pay structure as follows:
Recruit Pay:
- $21.00 per hour, with benefits while in the academy. *If currently enrolled in the academy, upon hire you would be paid throughout the remainder of the academy. *
- $22.00 per hour, upon completion of the academy and meeting state license as a peace officer or currently Texas certified officer. *pay is based on 2184 annul hours*
- $23.00 per hour, upon completion of one year probation period.
Certified Officer:
- $22.00 per hour, upon the start of FTO.
- $23.00 per hour, upon completion of one year probation period ($50,232 annually).
