Job Description/General Duties:

  • Motor vehicle enforcement: Traffic laws, Drug and DWI interdiction.
  • Respond promptly to calls for service.
  • Conduct thorough investigations of crimes.
  • Gather evidence and interview suspects and witnesses.
  • Prepare detailed reports on incidents, arrests, and investigations.
  • Engage with community members to build relationships and address concerns.
  • Handle animals in distress or involved in incidents.
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies when necessary.
  • Participate in ongoing training to stay current on laws, techniques, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in criminal investigation techniques to effectively gather evidence.
  • Experience in animal handling for situations involving domestic or wild animals.
  • Certification in CPR and first aid to provide emergency assistance when needed.
  • Strong conflict management skills to de-escalate tense situations effectively.
  • Ability to drive safely under various conditions while responding to calls.

Testing Requirements:

  • Physical Fitness test - Cooper Institute 35th percentile - 1.5-mile run / Pushups / Sit-ups.

RINDGE PD

Rindge Police Department typically handles 5000-6000 calls for service per year. Officers also conduct motor vehicle stops, investigate 250-350 criminal offenses and make 200-400 arrests annually.

Officers will learn to wear many hats and are encouraged to self-initiate law enforcement activities. All officers receive more than 35 hours of in-service training every year, including annual/semi-annual firearms training, defensive tactics, and use of force training. Other opportunities may include specialized training in Interview and Interrogation, crime scene processing, crime scene photography, drug and alcohol interdiction, Field Training Officer, (depending on the needs of the PD and interests of the officer), a partnership with the Monadnock Regional SRT team and participation in other community activities.

ABOUT OUR COMMUNITY

The town of Rindge allows officers to experience all aspects of Law Enforcement. NH Rt 119 and Rt 202 are heavily travelled roadways that offer officers the ability to conduct traffic enforcement and drug and alcohol interdiction.

Rindge is home to a variety of businesses to include Wal-Mart, Tractor Supply, Hannafords, Market Basket, Marshalls, NH State Liquor Store,  Domino's and other frequently visited businesses which bring in a large population of people. Partnering with Asset protection specialists presents officers with the ability to investigate thefts, hit & runs, and burglaries, amongst other crimes. 

Additionally, Rindge is home to Franklin Pierce University.  Officers regularly participate in details enforcing state law and town ordinances at sporting events and other community events.

All Rindge Police Officers are expected to interact with the public personally and professionally, investigate all levels of crime, interview suspects and witnesses alike, draft search warrants, arrest warrants and execute those warrants, concluding their investigations appropriately. Officers will be required to testify at court regularly and participate in a variety of community events.
