POLICE PATROL OFFICER

The Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department (NLCRPD) is accepting cover letters and current resumes from interested and qualified candidates for the position of police patrol officer. Agency planning requires that the NLCRPD seek qualified candidates to meet staffing needs. Candidates are requested to submit a cover letter and resume to the NLCRPD. This is an ongoing process, with applications retained for a one year period. If you have applied within the last six months there is no need to re-apply.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum age 21, good physical condition, proportional height and weight, high school graduate (or equivalent). Must be able to perform essential job functions and complete a competitive process, including but not limited to oral interviews, physical and psychological examination, polygraph examination, and comprehensive background investigation.
• Have completed a certified Pennsylvania MPOETC Act 120 Program or be
• Currently enrolled in a certified Pennsylvania Municipal Police Officer's Education & Training Commissiion (MPOETC) Act 120 program or be
• Currently employed as a full-time police officer of another state and met the certification standards of that state, and be able to pass the certification examination administered by MPOETC.
• Associates or Bachelors degree in any discipline is preferred, or acceptable combination of experience and education

GENERAL INFORMATION: 

The Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department is a dynamic and progressive agency formed in 2012 serving the communities of Clay Township, Penn Township, and Warwick Township. The agency currently has a sworn staff of 26 officers and serves a population of approximately 35,000 citizens in a coverage area of 72 square miles.
