North Branford - Entry Level Police Officer (Academy To Begin Jan 2027)

The Town of North Branford is currently accepting applications for Entry Level Police Officers and for a full time position. Successful candidates must meet all requirements for entry level qualifications established by Police Officer Standards and Training Council (POST-C).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

• Age: Applicants must be 21 years of age or older
• Education: Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED
• Residency: Must be a U.S. citizen by date of appointment.
• Must be able to pass a thorough background investigation, polygraph, medical and psychological examination, physical agility test (C.H.I.P), written test (CPCA), drug testing, other special requirements by the State of Connecticut or municipality may apply.

SALARY/BENEFITS

3 Step Salary Ladder includes a Top Step Patrol Pay of $99,034 (07/01/2027) before Overtime. Officers are also entitled to annual clothing allowances, paid holidays, health insurance, retirement plan, personal time, vacation time, sick time, tuition reimbursement, disability and life insurance.

TESTING REQUIREMENTS:

Must pass at minimum: CPCA written examination, CHIP Physical agility test, oral board examination, polygraph, psychological, background investigation, medical examination, Chief's Interview, Board of Police Commissioner Interview as well as any other testing required by the Town of North Branford.
