New Hampton Police Department
The New Hampton, New Hampshire Police Department is actively seeking police officer candidates interested in a challenging police-oriented career to fill current or anticipated full and part-time vacancies. The New Hampton Police Department is a community oriented, progressive, highly professional law enforcement agency. The Town of New Hampton serves a population in excess of 2,100 people and is located in the Lakes Region with easy access to the Boston Metropolitan area, beaches, and the White Mountains.
Officers patrol an assigned area for the purpose of crime prevention and law enforcement. Duties include but are not limited to: Calls for Service; investigation of crimes; identification/apprehension of offenders; prevention of crime. Applicants must have the ability to exercise good common sense; discretion; be able to analyze situations quickly and objectively; make decisions under pressure; and perform ALL of the essential job functions of an inexperienced police officer.
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Minimum of 21 years of age
- A United States Citizen
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- College education or military experience desirable.
- NH Certification preferred
Applicants who meet the basic qualifications are selected on a competitive basis. Each applicant must successfully complete each element of the following:
- Comprehensive medical examination
- Physical fitness examination
- Oral Board
- Thorough background examination
- Psychological profile
