Montclair Township - Alternate Route - Entry Level Police Officer

As a member of our department, you will play a crucial role in maintaining public order, preventing and investigating crimes, and building strong relationships with the community.

Key Responsibilities:

1.) Patrol and Enforcement: Conduct proactive patrols to deter criminal activity, respond to calls for service, and enforce laws and ordinances.

2.) Community Engagement: Foster positive relationships with community members through outreach programs, public events, and educational initiatives.

3.) Service: Respond to non-crime related calls for service and provide assistance to community members in need.

4.) Investigation: Conduct thorough and impartial investigations of criminal incidents, gather evidence, interview witnesses, and collaborate with other law enforcement agencies.

5.) Emergency Response: Respond to emergencies, accidents, and disasters, providing assistance and maintaining order.

6.) Public Safety: Work collaboratively with other public safety agencies to ensure the overall safety and well-being of the community.

Qualifications:

• Enrolled in a Police Academy or PTC certified and: 60 college credits or 2 years active military service w/ Honorable Discharge
• Valid driver's license.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or have the legal right to work in the United States.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
