Manchester Police Department
Now Accepting Applications for Police Officers
Why Manchester Police Department?
Manchester is New Hampshire’s largest city and serves as the economic, cultural, and transportation hub of northern New England. Home to more than 116,000 residents across 35 square miles, Manchester offers the unique combination of a vibrant urban environment surrounded by the natural beauty that makes New Hampshire one of the most desirable places to live and work.
Residents enjoy four distinct seasons and endless opportunities for outdoor recreation. From skiing at McIntyre Ski Area and the state's numerous ski resorts during the winter months to hiking, boating, fishing, and exploring Lake Massabesic in the spring and summer, Manchester provides an exceptional quality of life. The White Mountains, Lakes Region, and Atlantic coastline are all within easy driving distance, making adventure and recreation accessible year-round.
New Hampshire's lack of a state income tax and general sales tax helps residents maximize their earnings while maintaining a lower cost of living than many neighboring metropolitan areas. Manchester is also home to a highly educated and skilled workforce, supported by institutions such as Southern New Hampshire University, the University of New Hampshire at Manchester, and Manchester Community College.
