The Madison Police Department [Borough of Madison, Morris County, NJ] is accepting applications for the position of Full-Time Police Officer.
New Jersey Police Training Commission certification is not required.
Applicants must meet the following qualifications in order to apply:
•Must be a resident of New Jersey and a citizen of the United States
•Must be at least 21 years of age
•Shall have graduated from high school or possess a General Equivalency Degree (GED)
•Shall possess an associate’s degree or sixty college/university credits from an accredited college/university, or be honorably discharged from active duty service in any branch of the U.S. Military
•Ability to perform all the tasks and duties of a Police Officer and possess a valid New Jersey Driver’s License.
The starting salary for Police Officer is $52,020. [2027 top salary / 13 steps, $134,215 at the end of the current contract]. Police Officers are offered a variety of opportunities for increased salary, including overtime assignments, specialized roles, and scheduled increases according to their contract.
Candidates must successfully pass a background investigation, including a medical exam, drug screen, and psychological exam. The ability to speak and understand Spanish is a plus.
