- Candidates must hold a valid driver’s license.
- Must be at least 20 years old with 60 credit hours or 21 years of age.
- hold a high school diploma, or GED equivalent.
- Candidates who have made the final selection may be required to successfully complete the physical agility test (MCJA Standard) and must pass a thorough background investigation, which includes a polygraph, psychological, and financial examination.

PT, and alert test are preferred before applying but can be added at a later time
