Full Time Deputy Sheriff
CANDIDATE MUST BE FULL-TIME NH CERTIFIED LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER
Starting Salary: $29.00 per hour 40 hours per week includes nights, weekends and holidays; assignment of duties and schedule of hours and days at the discretion of the Sheriff.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
The position of Deputy Sheriff is a sworn position and is responsible for the enforcement of the applicable laws of the State of New Hampshire as well as the efficient performance of required duties; to include transporting prisoners, serving civil process and a wide variety of law enforcement duties, while conforming to the rules, regulations and general orders of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES
The successful candidate must be of good moral character, have good communication skills, possess the ability to multi-task, work efficiently under pressure, exercise good common sense and be able to analyze situations quickly and objectively. The applicant must not have any physical, mental, and/or medical impairments which would interfere with the ability to perform the essential functions of a law enforcement officer. Candidate must be a full-time NH certified law enforcement officer.
Candidates must be a United States Citizen and be a minimum of 21 years of age by the date of appointment, must possess a high school diploma or equivalent meeting New Hampshire Standards, and must possess a valid drivers’ license. Candidates shall not have a criminal record or serious motor vehicle record.
The hiring process may consist of the following; physical agility test; written examination; oral interview; background investigation; psychological test; medical examination, agency interview(s) and other test as deemed necessary to determine his/her fitness as a law enforcement officer. Successful candidate must graduate from the New Hampshire Police Training Academy, and successfully complete a probationary period.
