Must be 21
Possess a valid Louisiana Driver's License
Be a United States Citizen
Must have earned a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
No felony convictions or crimes of violence
Job description/General Duties
The Desoto Parish Sheriff's Office is hiring for the position of Deputy Sheriff. Deputies are assigned duties at the discretion of the Sheriff and based on the needs of the department. Possible assignments for Deputies include patrol, corrections or special services assignment. This is a Law Enforcement position which will require the candidate, once hired, to successfully complete a POST Certification Course at an accredited police academy of the Sheriff's choosing. This course is a mentally and physically challenging 15 week requirement. Once completed, the certified Deputy will be eligible for further assignment opportunities within the department.

Entry Level: $53,700 yr.
(*After POST Certification. Includes $7,200 state supplemental pay)
