ANNOUNCES APPLICATION PROCESS FOR

POLICE OFFICER

The Coventry Police Department announces that they will be accepting applications for entry level - Police Officer on an open enrollment basis. Recruits will be expected to attend the August 2025 Rhode Island Municipal Police Training Academy (RIMPTA).

Individuals who wish to be considered for employment by the Town of Coventry as a Police Officer, at the time of application, must possess a High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent; or be a graduate of a POST Certified Police or Law Enforcement Academy; be at least 18-years-old; be a US Citizen; have an active driver’s license; and pass all testing requirements. Testing will include a written test, physical fitness testing in accordance with the RIMPTA Physical Proficiency Standards, an oral interview, an intensive background investigation, and a medical exam.

Applicants must possess valid Fit2Serve written and fitness passing test certificates (dated no earlier than August 2024 for fitness, and August 2023 for written). The dates for the next written/physical exams are listed on their website. Additional testing fees are required upon registering at www.fit2serveri.com.
