ALVARADO POLICE DEPARTMENT

POLICE OFFICER

We are currently hiring for full-time police officer positions. Applicants MUST be TCOLE certified or currently enrolled in an academy to become TCOLE Certified in order to apply for this position.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Twenty-one (21) years of age or older, High School diploma or GED, and must have completed a TCOLE approved police academy and licensed, or licensable, by TCOLE as a Peace Officer. Possession of a valid Texas driver’s license with driving record that meets City guidelines.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to speak, read and write the English language.
  • Must be a United States Citizen.

TESTING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Written Exam - requires a passing score of 70%
  • Physical Exam - consists of a 500 meter row, with no time limit.

HIRING PROCESS:

Hiring process consists of written / physical exam, background investigation, oral board, physical & drug screen, Polygraph, psychological evaluation and Chief interview.

SALARY & BENEFITS:

  • Up to $62,138.00 Annually (DOQ) and Equipment is provided
  • 12 hour shifts / Every other weekend off

DEPARTMENT DIVISIONS:

Patrol, Criminal Investigations, Traffic Safety (Commercial Vehicle), and Administration
