Moonachie Police Department, NJ Police JobsPART-TIME PUBLIC SAFETY TELECOMMUNICATOR

The Moonachie Police Department is currently seeking to fill the position of part-time Public Safety Telecommunicator. Public Safety Telecommunicators work a variety of shifts including nights and holidays.  Responsibilities include dispatching and relaying information to Police, Fire, and EMS personnel for emergency and non-emergency situations. An extensive background check will be required prior to hiring. Part-Time Public Safety Telecommunicators work weekends and holidays.

Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • At least 18 years old
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (ability to speak and read English)
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high stress environment
  • Ability to work rotating shifts (8 hours)

The following qualifications are preferred but not required to apply:

  • Current Basic Telecommunicator / 9-1-1 certification
  • Basic typing skills
  • Prior Public Safety Dispatch experience
  • Prior police, fire, or EMS experience

Starting Salary:

  • Public Safety Telecommunicator - $22.37 per hour
