The Borough of Madison is accepting applications for a full time Public Safety Telecommunications Officer in the Madison Police Department. Salary range is $45,000 with under five (5) years of experience, $51,000 with over five (5) years of experience, and $59,900 with over ten (10) years of experience. Responsibilities include recording telephone communications, receiving and relaying radio messages to various vehicles/personnel, other duties as assigned. Requirements: Full benefit package available. HS Diploma or GED (Associates Degree or higher preferred), 3 years experience in public safety telecommunications preferred; Current NJ approved Basic Telecommunicator certificate a MUST; ability to speak and understand Spanish a plus. SALARY:
• $45,000.00 - $59,900.00 [w/pension & health benefits];
• $1,200 bonus following a successful job performance review
REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be a citizen of the United States;
• Must possess a high school diploma, or equivalency;
• Must be of good moral character;
• Must be at least 18 years old;
• Must not have been convicted of a crime;
• Must possess a valid New Jersey driver's license;
• Ability to handle shift work including weekends & holidays;
• Ability to multitask;
• Reliable transportation in all types of weather;
• Successfully pass a comprehensive background check;
• Proficient in typing
