The Borough of Madison is accepting applications for the position of full-time Public Safety Telecommunications Officer in the Madison Police Department. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: recording telephone communications, receiving and relaying radio messages to various vehicles/personnel, and other duties as assigned. Salary range is $54,281- $69,311. Possibility of a $1,500 dollar bonus for a successful job performance review in July of every year. High school diploma or GED required. Associates degree or higher preferred. Three (3) years of experience in public safety telecommunications is preferred. Current New Jersey approved Basic Telecommunicator certificate is preferred. Bilingual with Spanish a plus. Must possess a valid New Jersey driver’s license. Must be 18 years or older. The ideal candidate must be able to multitask and work shifts including weekends and holidays. Full benefits package offered; including medical, dental, prescription coverage or up to a $5,000 an annual stipend for those who opt out of the Borough’s group health benefit insurance plan; enrollment in NJ Public Retirement System; paid time off (vacation, sick and personal) including twelve (12) holidays; optional enrollment in a deferred compensation plan and in AFLAC supplemental insurance; discount at the Madison Area YMCA; and eligibility to join two (2) local federal credit unions. • Must be a citizen of the United States;
• Must possess a high school diploma, or equivalency;

• Ability to handle shift work including weekends & holidays;
• Ability to multitask;
• Reliable transportation in all types of weather;
• Successfully pass a comprehensive background check;
• Proficient in typing
