NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE POSITION OF
PUBLIC SAFETY DISPATCHER
The Little Ferry Police Department has openings for part time Public Safety Dispatchers. Public Safety Dispatchers provide a vital link between our citizens and emergency services. Our Communications Center is a fast paced environment with the responsibility of coordinating emergency services for the Borough of Little Ferry. The Brough of Little Ferry is an E.O.E.
Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications:
- At least 18 years old
- High School Diploma
- Ability to speak and read the English language
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including days, night, weekends and holidays
The following qualifications are preferred but not required to apply:
- Current Basic Telecommunicator/9-1-1 certification
- Basic typing skills
- Prior Public Safety Dispatch experience
- Prior police, fire, or EMS experience

The mission of the Little Ferry Police Department is to prevent crime, enforce the law, and support quality public safety by delivering competent and caring police services with a commitment to the public we serve. The Little Ferry Police Department is an Accredited Agency under the New Jersey State Police Chief's Association.
The Little Ferry Police Department is responsible for the all law enforcement activities within the Borough. Under the direction of Chief James Walters, the Department currently offers the following:
- Patrol
- Traffic Bureau
- Detective Bureau
- School Resource Officer
- Office of Emergency Management
