Part-Time Emergency Telecommunications Public Safety Dispatcher

Salary: $ 27.11 per hour

The Attleboro Police Department seeks a part-time police dispatcher. This position receives, transmits and disseminates both routine and emergency communications utilizing the telephone, radio and E-911 systems.  Also uses various law enforcement data bases for information.  The part-time position requires high school graduation. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely. Must be able to operate computer, telephone and other communications equipment.  Must be able to remain calm and professional in emergency situations.

A criminal records background check will be performed on all applicants. Shift work required.

Prior emergency dispatching experience is NOT required. The police department will train new part-time dispatchers. Newly hired part-time dispatchers will receive mandatory training in E-911 telecommunicator; cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR); Massachusetts State 911 Department New Hire NG 911; and the Massachusetts State 911 Department APCO PST1 training class.
