Job Title:                Records Clerk

General Statement of Job –
This position performs administrative work in all functional areas of the Record’s Section by performing customer service, data processing, record-keeping and administrative support duties for the agency. Members in Records work daily with releases pursuant Florida’s Public Records law, Chapter 119 FSS, and compile the National Incident-Based Reporting System statistics (NIBRS).

 

Minimum Qualifications –
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Administrative support experience involving customer service

 


Essential Job Functions –
• Researches, organizes, summarizes and assembles requested information/documentation from various files, forwarding the completed work product to the appropriate personnel.
• Forwards all appropriate reports to the proper personnel/agency as directed.
• Given an authorized records request for information, the member will locate, copy, and furnish the individual or agency with accurate information in a timely manner.
• Locates and releases public record information pursuant to applicable State Statutes upon request to the press and public, consistent with agency policies.

• Problem solving – be able to look beyond surface issues to identify and analyze problems and develop effective responses and solutions to resolve problems.
• Situational awareness – be aware and alert to the surrounding conditions and situations and be able to adapt to unexpected changes in situations to successfully and safely complete the task at hand.
• Computer applications – knowledge of Microsoft software, including Excel and PowerPoint.

 

 

Standards to Perform Job Functions –

 

Physical Requirements: Sit up to 7 hours per day, stand up to 1 hours per day, walk up to 1 hours per day, occasionally lift up to 10 lbs., bend, squat, climb, reach, kneel, and/or twist.


Hiring Process –
Applicants will be required to successfully complete:
• Background investigation which includes, but is not limited to: criminal history, driving history, credit check, previous employment verification. The background waiver MUST BE SIGNED AND NOTARIZED.
• Assessment test
• Polygraph Examination
• Panel Interview
• Pre-employment Drug Screen (including nicotine panel)
