Job Announcement

The Town of New Milford is currently accepting applications for the position of Armed School Security Officer.  We are seeking one SSO for a school assignment up to 40 hours and also another SSO to fill in Per Diem, as necessary. This fill in position will cover when an SSO takes a day off and generally ample notice will be given.  Both positions have a salary of $25/hour. The responsibilities for this position include carrying out existing district and school procedures and programs related to school security and safety functions. The position reports to the Chief of Police. To be considered applicants must be a retired police officer who is able to become certified as a School Security Officer with the State of Connecticut.
