Civilian Human Trafficking Contract Investigator

Summary:
The Nampa Police Department is seeking a seasoned law enforcement professional to serve as a contract investigator for a temporary period of 18 months. Candidates must possess significant investigative experience.
The full-time Civilian Human Trafficking Contract Investigator is responsible for conducting investigations related to human trafficking, including sex trafficking and labor trafficking. This role involves identifying victims, gathering evidence, interviewing victims, witnesses, and suspects, collaborating with law enforcement and other agencies, and preparing cases for prosecution or victim services. The Investigator must possess a strong understanding of human trafficking dynamics, victimology, and relevant laws, and must be able to work with sensitive and confidential information. A trauma-informed and victim-centered approach is essential. This is a contract position with a pay rate of $48 an hour with no more than 160 hours a month lasting for no more than 18 months.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct Investigations: Plan, coordinate, and conduct thorough investigations into allegations of human trafficking.
- Victim Identification and Interview: Identify potential human trafficking victims and conduct sensitive and trauma-informed interviews to gather information.
- Evidence Collection and Analysis: Gather, analyze, and document physical, testimonial, and digital evidence in accordance with legal and procedural guidelines.
- Witness and Suspect Interviews: Conduct interviews with witnesses and potential suspects, utilizing appropriate interview techniques.
- Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, victim service providers, prosecutors, and other relevant
- Case Preparation: Prepare detailed investigative reports, case files, and other documentation for prosecution or victim services.
- Legal Compliance: Ensure all investigative activities are conducted in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.

- Victim Support and Resources: Connect victims with appropriate support services, resources, and advocacy.
- Training and Awareness: Participate in training and awareness initiatives related to human trafficking.

- Stay Informed: Keep versed of current trends, legislation, and best practices in the field of human trafficking.

Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in law enforcement, investigations, or related field, with specific experience in human trafficking investigations preferred.
Knowledge:
- Thorough understanding of human trafficking laws, dynamics, and
