Police Operations Center Coordinator
Summary:
The Police Operations Center Coordinator is a civilian member of the department whose duties are confined to the Police Operations Center area. The Police Operations Center Coordinator shall be responsible to the Duty Platoon Commander or his/her designee, for the efficient operation of the Police Operations Center, in conformity with established policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Completing Daily Facility Inspection Report at the start of his or her shift.
- Maintaining security within the Police Operations Center, observing the monitors, and controlling all activity that occurs within the Police Operations Center.
- Maintaining weapons control within the Police Operations Center by insuring that all armed law enforcement personnel surrender firearms prior to being permitted to enter the Prisoner Processing or the Prisoner Detention sections of the Police Operations Center.
- Performing all necessary computer operations within the Police Operations Center in compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Monitoring the activity of prisoners restrained in detention cells.
- Performing any and all other duties as designated by the Platoon Commander or designee.
Education and Experience:
Prior Police or Headquarters Officer experience is required.
Other Requirements:
- Pass an oral interview.
- Pass a drug test.
- Pass a medical screening.
- A comprehensive pre-employment background investigation is required as a condition of employment.
- A valid New Jersey Driver's License
- New Jersey residency required pursuant to NJSA 54:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70) if selected for the position.
