COURT SECURITY DEPUTY
Location: Carroll County Circuit and/or District Court - Westminster, MD
Grade W11 – Non-Exempt
Starting Salary $50,399 annually

Key Responsibilities
- Provide security in courtrooms and courthouse areas
- Supervise and escort prisoners in custody
- Conduct searches and perform prisoner counts
- Maintain courtroom order and support judges and staff
- Assist with prisoner booking, transport, and movement
- Help with main entrance security screening
- Guide jurors, witnesses, and visitors as needed
- Complete daily reports and respond to emergencies
Minimum Eligibility
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Resident Alien
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or GED (recognized by State Board of Education)
- Valid Class C driver’s license (per County Vehicle Safety Guidelines)
- Must meet Carroll County Sheriff’s Office minimum hiring standards
- Ability to stand/sit for extended periods and lift up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to pass required background, medical, and psychological screenings
