Job Announcement:

The City of Westminster is seeking an innovative and experienced law enforcement professional to serve as a Police Captain for a Police Department comprised of 42 sworn officers and 12 civilian personnel.  The Police Department serves a community of more than 20,000 residents, including a robust commercial district and the McDaniel College campus. This management level position will have command of either the Criminal Investigations Bureau or the Patrol Bureau within the Police Department. Candidates must have held the rank of lieutenant or higher in a full-service police agency, have completed a MPCTC approved administrator training program, and must be eligible for certification as a Maryland Police Officer. Bachelor’s Degree and/or senior command training is desirable. See Job Description for specific job responsibilities. Candidates must submit a resume outlining their experience, including command-level assignments, operational/investigative experience, administrative experience, education and command-level training.  Starting salary is $101,000-$118,000 based on qualifications.  The City offers excellent benefits to include LEOPS pension plan and a take-home vehicle.  Applications must be received by 4:30 PM on Friday, June 6, 2025.
