EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR

CERTIFIED POLICE OFFICER

(Open to Connecticut POSTC Certified Police Officers ONLY)

Salary: Year 1 - $65,268.00; Year 2 – $69,879.00; Year 3 - $76,003.00

The Town of Trumbull, CT is now accepting applications from Current Connecticut P.O.S.T.C Certified Police Officers for the position of Entry Level Police Officer.  Applications must be received by November 13, 2015. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Applicants must be a Current Connecticut P.O.S.T.C Certified Police Officer
• Applicant must possess a valid Connecticut driver’s license at time of appointment
• Applicant must be a non-smoker
• Applicant must have no felony convictions
• Applicant must have no domestic violence convictions
• Applicant must have no A or B misdemeanor convictions
• Applicant must not have had a motor vehicle conviction for Evading Responsibility or Operating under the influence of Alcohol/Drugs or both

SELECTION PROCESS:

Applicants will be required to pass the State of Connecticut Physical Performance Test at the 40% range or have had a valid CHIP card issued to them within two years of their application to continue in the hiring process.  

Applicants will need to obtain a medical waiver prior to participating in the physical performance test. Applicants who successfully complete the Physical Performance requirement or have a valid CHIP card will then be scheduled for an Oral Examination.

• An oral examination
• A polygraph examination
• A psychological evaluation
• A drug screening test
• A complete medical examination
• An intense and thorough background examination
• A police commission review board
• A field training probationary period

The Town of Trumbull reserves the right to utilize other scoring methods or additional screening methods depending on the number of certified applicants or other considerations.

The Town of Trumbull in its sole discretion reserves the right to utilize either the certified police officer hiring list or any future new hire police officer list.
