TANEYTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
Certified Lateral Police Officers
The Taneytown Police Department is currently accepting applications seeking Certified Lateral Police Officers. The Department currently has a 15-member force in a growing community of approximately 7,200 residents. Applications will be accepted until positions are filled.
SALARY: Now offering $10,000 SIGNING BONUS
- Starting salary of $53,678 - $60,415 for Certified Lateral Police Officers depending on experience.
- Rotating twelve-hour patrol shifts.
- Night shift differential pay.
- Compensation for Holidays worked.
- Minimum 3 hours overtime for off-duty court appearances.
- Yearly step increments with acceptable performance evaluations.
- Please inquire about $10,000 signing bonus.
REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must hold a current Maryland Police and Correctional Commission Certification OR hold a current law enforcement certification in another state commensurate with Maryland certification standards. Applicants must also successfully pass an oral interview, a pre-employment background investigation, a polygraph test, a psychological screening, and a medical examination.

- Employee does not pay for HEALTH/DENTAL/VISION insurance coverage and only pays 25% of dependent coverage. Pre-loaded HRA card $7,000 - $14,000 based on dependents.
