Job Title: Stow - Part-Time School Resource Officer (Sworn)

Job Announcement:

The City of Stow is accepting applications for the position(s) of Part-Time School Resource Officer. 

Work is performed under the general direction of the Chief of Police and/or his designee.   Duties include but are not limited to: handling police matters within the schools, assisting with student arrival and dismissal, performing ongoing security checks of school’s exterior doors, remaining highly visible in the school environment, serving as a role model, and building a positive rapport with staff/students.

The School Resource Officer’s work schedule will mirror the school schedule for when students are in attendance.  IE: A typical work schedule will be Monday through Friday with holidays and summers off.

Starting rate of pay is $37.30 per hour with regular increases scheduled.  Officers will be issued equipment and will receive a yearly uniform allowance.  All applicants will be subject to a background check and drug screening.  Applicants must have 8-years experience as a full-time police officer to apply.  A current OPOTA certification or the ability to recertify is required (if you have been an OPOTA commissioned officer within the last 4-years you are eligible for recertification).  Recently retired officers are encouraged to apply.
