Borough of Naugatuck Police Officer
**PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST BE A CERTIFIED POLICE OFFICER IN ORDER TO APPLY FOR THIS POSITION**
The Borough of Naugatuck is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Police Officer. The Borough of Naugatuck will be accepting applications from current certified officers.
The Borough of Naugatuck offers:
-Salary range from $66,826.00 to $92,873*
-Defined Contribution Retirement Plan with annually matches starting at 7% with a max of 11% (including extra duty and overtime).
-Private duty hourly rate of $83.62 with yearly increases to $90.49 by end of contract.
-Vacation time adjustment for laterals crediting previous years of police service.
-Salary step adjustments for laterals.
-Yearly cleaning/clothing allowance of $1,500.00
-Yearly stipends for higher education degrees ranging from $500.00 to $1,500.00
-Full education tuition reimbursement for higher education courses (accredited universities or colleges).

Minimum Requirements:
- Be 21 years of age at time of appointment
- Be a U.S. Citizen
- POST certified officer or eligible for comparative certification
- Have a High School Diploma or GED
- Possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license
- Pass written exam & Police Commission interview
- Candidates must successfully complete and pass a thorough background investigation, polygraph examination, psychological interview/test, and comprehensive medical examination including drug/alcohol screening.
- Failure to meet any of these requirements will disqualify you for employment as a Police Officer with the Borough of Naugatuck.
