In-State, Rhode Island Police Lateral Transfer (Accelerated Application Process)
The Town of Narragansett is seeking qualified Rhode Island P.O.S.T. certified Police Officers. Candidates must be a United States citizen, between the ages of 21 and 35 upon appointment, have a minimum of 60 college credit hours or two consecutive years of honorable active duty military service and hold a valid unrestricted R.I. state driver’s license upon appointment.
- Starting Salary: $52,293.84
- 14 paid holidays per year
- Paid vacation, sick and personal time
- 25-year private pension (With the ability to buy back up to 4 years of previous law enforcement service)
- Longevity increments after three years of service
- Overtime and Detail opportunities available
- In-state lateral transfers will receive an accelerated application process which must include the following:
- Successful completion of a command staff interview(s);
- Successful completion of a background investigation;
- Successful completion of a psychological examination;
- Successful completion of a medical examination;
- Drug screening;
- Rhode Island Municipal Police Training Academy (RIMPTA) and RI Police Officer Standard and Training (POST) approval.
