HIRING ANNOUNCEMENT – POLICE OFFICER
The Middlesex Borough Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. Applicants must be of high moral character and aptitude. A copy of the candidate's Police Training Certificate or eligibility is to accompany each resume, along with a completed Preliminary Application.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- All applicants must meet the qualifications as specified in N.J.S.A. 40A:14-122.
In addition, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Applicant must be a resident of the State of New Jersey at the time of appointment.
- Applicant must be at least 21 years of age and no more than 35 years of age at the time of appointment.
- Applicant must have a valid New Jersey driver’s license at the time of appointment.
- Applicant must an approved combination of one or more of the following:
- a minimum of 60 college credits from an accredited college or university, or
- a minimum of four years of active duty in the United States Armed Forces, or
- three years of employment as a certified police officer through the NJ Police Training Commission
- Applicant must possess a current Police Training Commission (PTC) BCPO certificate, PTC Class II Waiver eligibility / GAP Program eligibility, or be currently enrolled in the Alternate Route Program in a PTC certified State of NJ Police Academy; successfully pass a medical examination, a thorough personal background check, a psychological examination, a complete drug and alcohol screening, and an oral interview.
