Job Announcement:
The Mendham Township Police Department is currently seeking candidates for the position of Full Time Police Officer. The Mendham Township Police Department is a proactive community-oriented police department in western Morris County. We are a 15 officer department that proudly serves over 6000 residents over an area of 18 square miles. The following are requirements of the position:
1. Be a citizen of the United States of America
2. Be a resident of the state of New Jersey at time of appointment
3. Be sound in body and of good health to satisfy the Board of Trustee;s of the Police and Firemans Retirement System of New Jersey as to their eligibility for membership in the retirement system and be able to pass a township provided physical and mental health evaluation.
4. Be able to read, write and speak the English language well and intelligently.
5. Be of good moral character and must not have been convicted of any crime involving moral turpitude.
6. Be of proper age as required by law
7. Possess a current and valid NJ Drivers license
8. Possess a minimum of 60 college credits or honorably military time
CURRENTLY WE ARE ONLY ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS OF FULLY NJ PTC CERTIFIED POLICE OFFICERS IN GOOD STANDING OR THOSE CURRENTLY ENROLLED AND ATTNEDING A NJ POLICE ACADEMY BASIC TO OBTAIN THEIR FULL NJ PTC CERTIFICATION(Alternate Route Program).
