CERTIFIED POLICE OFFICER

APPLICATIONS ARE DUE BY OCTOBER 6, 2023

Greenfield Police Department will be accepting Applications from September 13, 2023 through October 6, 2023. The Physical Agility Test will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 1000hrs; all applicants will be contacted via email with additional information.

This is a Certified Police Officer (Lateral) only process.  Lateral candidates must be ILEA Tier 1 certified or have equivalent certification from another state.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Must be US Citizen
  2. Must be at least 21 years of age, but not older than 39 at the time of appointment
  3. High School Diploma or GED
  4. Must have a valid Indiana Driver's License
  5. No felony convictions
  6. Must be able to possess firearms
  7. Must have ILEA Tier 1 Certification or other state's equivalent

  2. Indiana Law Enforcement Agency Physical Agility Exit Standards (www.in.gov/ilea/physical-fitness-standards/)
  1. Written Exam (if required)
  2. Oral Interview
  3. Voice Stress Analysis or Polygraph Test
  4. Background Check
  5. PERF Medical/Psychological exam.

 

 

HIRING PROCESS:

  1. Physical Agility Test (Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 1000hrs.  Location Greenfield PD)
  2. Oral interview (TBD)
  3. Background check
  4. Voice Stress Analysis
  5. PERF medical/psychological exam clearance
  6. Field Training Program

 

 

SALARY:

  • Probationary: $61,815.98 (until completion of FTO)
  • Lateral Hires: Up to $67,910.38 (with 3 or more years of service, after FTO)
  • $3,000 Max Longevity Yearly ($150/year of service at GPD)

 

JOB DESCRIPTION/GENERAL DUTIES:

Incumbent serves as Patrol Officer for the Greenfield Police Department, responsible for enforcing federal, state, and local laws. Serving and protecting individuals, their rights, and property.  Building stronger community relationships daily.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:

Population of Greenfield is 24,000+, we are currently hiring 1 officer and creating a candidate list. We respond to around 25,000 calls a year. The city has a lot of new growth with several trails and parks.

TESTING REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum passing score for the Written exam is 70%. Must pass the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy Physical Agility exit standards (www.in.gov/ilea/physical-fitness-standards/).
