Job Announcement:
Special Law Enforcement Officer - Class 3
The Fanwood Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of SLEO III beginning for the Fall 2026 school year. Applications must be submitted via www.PoliceApp.com.
Starting hourly rate is $42.50.
Applicants must possess the following:
- A New Jersey Police Training Commission Basic Police Officer certification or New Jersey State Police Academy certification
- Good reputation and be of sound moral character.
- Good physical condition and health.
- Retired law enforcement officer who was separated from that prior service in good standing within 3 years of appointment to this position.
- Possess a valid NJ Driver's License.
- Be a current NJ Resident and United States Citizen.
- Must be able to perform all tasks, duties and essential job functions of a police officer.
- Must be able to successfully complete pre-employment medical and psychological exams.
