Fairview Township Police Department
Now accepting applications for Full time Police Officers
The Fairview Township Police Department is looking to hire one full time police officer immediately and will potentially be hiring a second full time police officer later in the year. These are new positions with the Department due to the growth of the Fairview Township community. This announcement will be open until we fill the position.
The Fairview Township Police Department is an accredited police department through the Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission and is one of only 44 departments to achieve Premier Agency Status. We serve a population over 18,000 residents in the Township as well as Lewisberry Borough. Fairview Township is a vibrant community that also serves a high transient population. We serve five schools within the West Shore School District with a population of 3,325 students, 13 hotels, as well as major employers such as the Department of Defense, FedEx Ground, and Amazon. Our calls for service have increased each of the last 5 years and there is a tremendous amount of growth coming to the community with close to 3,000 building lots in various stages of planning and construction.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Act 120 certified. We will consider applicants currently enrolled in a certified Act 120 program.
- Must be a legal citizen of the United States.
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Possess a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License.
- Possess a Social Security Card.
- If previously a member of the Armed Forces of the United States, service any discharge must be honorable or under honorable conditions.
- Be of good moral character, having no felony convictions; no misdemeanor convictions involving moral character, perjury, or false statement. Other Misdemeanor and/or Summary convictions will be evaluated.
- Live within 35 miles of the closest Township line within 6 months of appointment.
Salary and Benefits
- Starting pay in 2026 is $72,278.10 with a max pay rate of $111,308.28.

Specialties our officers may participate in include the York County QRT, York County Drug Task Force, York County Forensics, PA Attorney Generals Special Task Force, U.S. Marshals Task Force, Computer Forensics, Crash Reconstruction, and a School Resource Officer. Our agency is also currently working to develop a K9 program.
Hiring Process
Our hiring process will include an oral interview, a conditional offer, a comprehensive background investigation including a polygraph examination, a physical, and a psychological examination.
