The Doylestown Township Police Department is creating an eligibility list and is accepting applications from interested and qualified candidates for the position of a police officer. General Information:
The Doylestown Township Police Department consists of twenty (23) full-time sworn officers, headed by Chief of Police Charles Zeigler with one (1) Lieutenant, four (4) Patrol Sergeants, one (1) Detective Corporal, three (3) Detectives, fourteen (14) Patrol Officers, and three (3) civilian employees. The agency provides 24/7 service to the residents, businesses, and visitors of Doylestown Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The Department is responsible for a jurisdiction covering nearly 16 square miles with a population of 17,971 residents. The community consists of a diverse mixture of residential, commercial, and agricultural areas. The patrol division provides 24/7 coverage with a bi-weekly rotating 12-hour shift schedule.

Minimum Requirements:
- Must be a United States Citizen
- Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older.
- Must possess a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Must be currently an ACT 120 certified police officer or currently enrolled in a police academy in good standing.

Salary and Benefits:
- Competitive salary as provided within the existing collective bargaining agreement. Police Officers with less than one year experience are compensated at 65% of the top patrol officer salary. In 2026, the top patrol officer salary is $126,871.54. *Top patrol officer salary is achieved upon completion of 5 years of service.
