Are you ready to serve your community with honor and professionalism? The Clinton Police Department is seeking dedicated, POSTC certified officers to join our team. As a nationally accredited agency through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), we are committed to upholding the highest standards of law enforcement and community policing.
Position Details: We are currently accepting applications for full-time Police Officers. Qualified applicants must hold a valid Connecticut POSTC certification or be able to achieve certification through comparative compliance within 30 days of hire.
Competitive Salary & Benefits:
Current Salary Range: $78,839.89 to $84,584.86
Top Step Pay on 01/01/2026: $88,650.22

Patrol Schedule: Officers operate on a dynamic 4-2 rotating schedule, working four consecutive days followed by two days off, ensuring optimal coverage and flexibility.

Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED (Associate’s Degree preferred)
Valid Connecticut Motor Vehicle Operator’s License
At least 21 years of age
U.S. Citizen
Good character and high moral standards
Ability to pass a thorough background investigation, polygraph, medical and psychological examinations, as well as physical agility and written tests
